使命異象 [歌林多前書 9:19-23] 我雖是自由的，無人轄管，然而我甘心作了眾人的僕人，為要多得人。向猶太人，我就作猶太人，為要得猶太人；向律法以下的人，我雖不在律法以下，還是作律法以下的人，為要得律法以下的人；向沒有律法的人，我就作沒有律法的人，為要得沒有律法的人。其實我在　神面前，不是沒有律法；在基督面前，正在律法之下。凡我所行的，都是為福音的緣故，為要與人同得這福音的好處。

孔雀在古代基督教象徵永恆的生命
To Christians this bird's many eyes are symbols of omniscience, the all-seeing God, and the all-seeing Church.
基督徒認為孔雀的許多眼睛，象徵了無所不知，到處都可以看見上帝，到處都可以看見教堂
The peacock's "eyes" also symbolize the beatific vision (i.e. the direct perception and knowledge of God as He truly is, enjoyed by angels, Christ, and the saints in heaven).
孔雀開屏的“眼睛”也象徵著幸福的視覺,(即直接感知和認識真正的上帝，就如同天使，基督和聖徒在天堂所享有的）。
